Which flowers for a birth?

Soft, gentle colours

White, powder pink, peach and pale blue are the usual birth colours. You don't need to match the baby's gender: soft tones work for every family.

Lightly scented flowers

Choose roses, gerberas, carnations or lisianthus rather than strongly scented lilies, which can be too much in a small room with a newborn.

A ready-to-place arrangement

Arrangements in a container or bouquets with a vase save the parents from looking for a vase in the middle of their first days.

Something for the baby

A plush toy or comforter next to the flowers is a gift the child will keep long after the flowers are gone.

Can I have flowers delivered to the maternity ward?

Often yes, but each hospital has its own rules, and some wards do not accept flowers. Check with the hospital first, or have the flowers delivered to the parents' home after they return, which also means they can enjoy them longer.

When is the best time to send flowers for a birth?

In the first days after the birth, or when the parents are back home. If you are unsure of the date they leave hospital, a delivery to the home a few days later is the safe choice.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs CHF 19.90 per order, anywhere in Switzerland. The fee is shown before you pay.
